When, where, and what to expect

What a night looks like

Ninety minutes, and the shape of it is the point. The group speaks before I do.

Why it is built this way

Everything we are going to cover is published on this site in advance. That means I do not have to spend the evening delivering it, and you do not have to sit still while I do. The reading is the lecture. The room is for discovery.

It also means we can move quickly, because nobody is being ambushed. If you want to know exactly where a night is going, it is all there. If you would rather be surprised, a few of the pages have the payoff behind a closed door with a note on it, so you can choose.

What I most want is the thing I cannot produce on my own: several people arriving with something God gave them during the week, and the rest of us weighing it together.

Within the week’s subject, though. The topic is a guard rail, and a valid one. We are not waiting to be taken somewhere else — we are asking the Spirit to open the ground we are already standing on, and to open it through more than one voice.

What to bring

A Bible you are willing to write in, if you have one. That is genuinely it.

What if I miss a night?

Come to the next one. Every session page on this site stands on its own, and the room itself is the review — the map, the word wall, and the covenant timeline all stay up all year.

Do I need to do the reading?

No. Each session page has a short passage and a thought to carry, for anyone who wants it. It is there to be useful, not to be homework. Come either way.
